Kanth is a nagar panchayat in Moradabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is known for its small scale bandage manufacturing industries. The small town distributes these accessories in Uttar Pradesh and in the rest of India under various licenses. Recently manufacturing of readymade garments has also developed, contributing to the economy of the town.

Historically, a city and district of British India, in the Bareilly Division of the United Provinces, now itself is a divisional headquarter. The city is on the right bank of the river Ramganga, 655 ft. above sea-level, and has a station on the Oudh & Rohilkhand railway, 868 miles from Calcutta. Pop. (1901), 75,128. It was founded in 1625 by Rustam Khan, who built the fort which overhangs the river bank, and the fine Jama Masjid or great mosque (1631). In 1776 it was taken over by the Sahaspur-Bilari state. Kanth was a princely state (riyasat), whose last valid prince was Kunwar Dhyan Singh Vishnoi. since he did not have any legal heir, he invested large amount of money in philanthropic works like inter and degree colleges and a public hospital. He granted large tracts of land to the college premises and Bhud Mandir at Kanth. The Kunwar was alleged to be murdered (according to local anecdotes) by poisoning by his relatives in quest of the large fortunes left by him.
Kanth is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 191 metres (626 feet). Kanth resides on-road from Dhampur to Moradabad. Kanth is well connected with U.P. Roadways Bus Service as well as Rail.
The District of Moradabad lies east of the Ganges and west of the native state of Rampur. Area, 2285 sq. m. It lies within the great Gangetic plain, and is demarcated into three subdivisions by the rivers Ramganga and Sot. The eastern tract consists of a submontane country, with an elevation slightly greater than the plain below, and is traversed by numerous streams descending from the Himalayas. The central portion consists of a level central plain descending at each end into the valleys of the Ramganga and Sot. The western section has a gentle slope towards the Ganges, with a rapid dip into the lowlands a few miles from the bank of the great river. Kanth is a peaceful city and aspirations of the people are not that much high to claim psychological calm of the locales. The groundwater of Kanth city is very sweet. Though technically, it is not a developed area, immigrants find solace at this place whenever they return to their home.
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Kanth had a population of 23,583. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kanth has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 48%. In Kanth, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Kanth has one of the oldest degree colleges, the D.S.M. degree college. Other schools include the D.S.M. Inter College, Saraswati Shishu mandir, Bihari Adarsh Kanya Inter College and the R.A.M. Inter College.Maharishi Dayanand Inter College is one of the reputed college of Moradabad division having a culture of producing district toppers. Besides there are some englis hmedium schools but the schools dont have any affiliation from any education board. Where as, for Hindi Education, Saraswati and Dayanand are still said to be the best.
Kali Mandir, Shiv Mandir, Moni Mandir and Bhur Mandir are few famous places. The acts are played from Raamaayan called as Raamleela at Raamleela Rang Mancha(English translation: Raamleela stage). It is a stage hall as well as a temple too.
